You meet, one of you shows an invite QR code, the other scans it. That’s the whole “sign-up”. Each invite works once and runs out after seven days.
Private messenger · works in your browser
me3 is an end-to-end encrypted messenger. There’s no account, no phone number and no email. You add a friend once — in person, or with a one-time invite — and from then on your phones talk through a relay that only ever sees scrambled data.

Turn on discreet mode and contacts appear as rotating codes rather than names. Every pair of friends has its own secret, so a code means nothing on anyone else’s phone.
me3 follows Signal’s published X3DH and Double Ratchet specifications and uses the libsodium library for every cryptographic step. Security model
Messages are encrypted on your phone before they leave it. Our server stores them under mailbox numbers that change every six hours, keeps them for at most seven days and deletes them once they’re collected. It never has your keys, your contacts’ names or what you wrote.
It can still see some things, like the IP address a request comes from, when it arrives and roughly how big it is. We explain that honestly on the security page.
